ALTA BATES SUMMIT MEDICAL CENTER

As a volunteer at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, California, I took the patient's menu orders for their various specialized diet's (GI Soft, Mechanical Soft-Ground, Carbohydrate Controlled, Low Sodium & Low Fat, Renal, and Regular). 

In addition, under the aegis of the Clinical Nutrition Manager, I took on the project of revising the current menu selections to be more nutritious and to meet hospital standards. I analyzed the current Tray Line and Food Service Workers to help me gain perspective on how changes could realistically be made within the Cook-Chill Tray Line setting while also improving the palatability and nutritional status of the meals.
